1. What inspires your authorship/poetic reflection?
The magic of words: how little squiggly marks can deeply touch us, move our emotions, and empower us to think and act empathetically
2. What advice do you have for young writers/poets/creators?
Learn to love the process; don’t get too attached to the product. Don’t constantly compete and compare the material rewards you receive with what others are getting or not. Read and listen. And finally, respect copyright, including verbal copyright - quote others, never pretend their words or thoughts are yours; never buy second hand or pirated copies of work by living creators.
3. What is the message you hope rings out to the world from your work?
I hope my work continues to build bridges of compassion and hope in the world. We are each unique and we need to respect and honor our differences, even as we also celebrate our underlying similarities and recognize that at the deepest level we share so much.
